We mark each change that can break your code. All other changes add to the API.

  • Top-ups. Add balance on the balance page, in US dollars or in your own currency: from $1 by mobile money or bank transfer, and from $3 by card.

The first version of the Kontinent AI API.

  • Five routes on https://api.kontinentai.com: POST /v1/chat/completions (OpenAI format), POST /v1/messages and POST /v1/messages/count_tokens (Anthropic format), POST /v1/responses (OpenAI Responses format), and GET /v1/models. See Supported endpoints.
  • Claude, GPT and Gemini models. Each model costs a fixed fraction of the official price of its maker. See Models.
  • Keys start with sk-kont-. Each endpoint that costs money accepts the key in Authorization: Bearer or in x-api-key.
  • A cost block on each response without a stream: cost_usd, list_price_usd and saved_usd. A chat stream has the block on its usage frame. A Messages stream and a Responses stream do not have it.
  • More than one supply route for each model. If a route fails before the answer starts, the request goes to the next route. See Reliability.
  • Balance comes from the starter balance and from redemption codes. At this time, you cannot buy balance on the site.
  • Setup pages for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, the OpenAI SDK and the Anthropic SDK.
